The Love of a Mother

No one comforts your heart and life like your mom. She knows how to make the pain feel better. Nothing compares to the love a mother has for her children. I recently read about the woman of Canaan. She said, "Lord, help me." Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment."  Matthew 15:28

She worshipped in a time of need. "Yes, Lord, even the little dogs eat the crumbs." Matthew 15:27 She was talking about anyone who was not a Gentile. What a statement of humility! She didn't care about her status at this point. All that mattered to her was the health of her daughter. Our trials should draw us closer to the Lord. She knew that only Jesus could help her at this point. Moms are usually the ones who are most sensitive to the Holy Spirit in the family.

 

She was rewarded for her worship. "Let it be to you as you desire." Matthew 15:28 She came, she sought, and she received. Her love for her daughter caused her child to be healed. Moms will endure a lot for the love and well being of their children.  "Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart." Psalm 37:4

 

"Life doesn't come with a Manual, it comes with a Mother."    Unknown
